How is it I have been a Mopar loving gearhead for 50 years, and this is the first time I have ever seen or even heard of a Plymouth Trailduster truck????? You would think I'd have at least seen one at one of the DOZENS of all Mopar shows I have been to.

My question is the Plymouth letters on the grill part of the grill? Is it molded in there or is it a factory add-on? That's definitely a 72-73 style truck grill...

Chrysler listed the Plymouth Trailduster as a
Dodge Ramcharger with the Plymouth option.
I have a 75 or 76 ex Forrest Service, Plymouth Trailduster Pickup with a 360. It has a factory mounted cab on it not the removable carry all type roof.

It's a separate part, on a mounting bar. Same grill used for the Ramcharger, just no DODGE lettering on the RC grill. RC had letters on the hood.

Again that's weird because they only made that style of grill in the trucks for 72 and 73... Then in 74 to 76 for the trucks at least they had another grill and then of course as we know in 77 I started making a completely different grill with turn signals in it..

I've never seen or heard of a factory option for the cab. I've seen several custom conversions. Please post pictures.

What I find interesting is the roof at the front is fastened to the cab just like on a pickup. It does not unbolt to be removed or any of that stuff it's one solid piece up there. Then you go to the inside of the back of the cab and it looks like somebody that worked on motorhomes fastened the back of the cab to the rest of the body.
As for getting pictures of it right now not possible. The vehicle is up in the barn in the bed of it is loaded. When I get to feeling better I'll see if I can get it unloaded and get you some pictures.
Nothing beats the old ramchargers and traildusters. I nagged a guy for years to sell me his,wouldnt sell. Then one day another guy is driving it. Bought it for $400.
I offered him 800. Nope.
After he passed it went to the shredder, his wife pitched everything.

Don't forget, the Ramcharger and Trailduster didn't debut until 1974. So, it makes perfect sense to me that Ma MOPAR would have carried these 72/73 truck (D100/D200) grills through to the new models, instead of re-designing a grill, which requires new tooling.

I'm sold. I might start looking for one. You would definitely have the only one at a local car show. Can't you just see the hater, know it alls telling you that Plymouth never made a truck.
.Every now and then I find a Trailduster with the cab like mine. I don't know if this one is an original or not.
I saw a picture years ago of about 100 of these in a forest service parking lot. I think it was a shipping point for the Forrest service.
This looks nice but I question the 6 bolt rear axle with the 5 bolt front axle.
