Swap early 225 to a later 225

Hey everyone, I’ve searched and searched but cannot find an answer. I just inherited a 1963 Valiant Signet convertible. I’m new to classic mopar. It has the original 225 with push button auto trans. The motor was froze. It came with another 225 from the mid 70’s. Can I swap in the newer 225? I want to get this thing back on the road asap. Thanks.

Yes, but you'll need to make a ring for the cranks register to center the earlier/smaller convertor snout.
The issue is the later crank register is larger than the early ones. Ankther way is..You can also have a converter made using the later case with early inerds. The spline count is different as well between late and early. Fwiw. 18 vs 27 or 29 iirr
