I'll admit it.... Brand X that I really like, and it's a GM.

I got a job as a sophomore at the local grocery in Feb 1964. I just turned 16. Dad gave me a woreout 49 Chevy to get to school and my job. about 20 hrs per week. $1.15 per hr. It paid for gas and horse feed. My first saddle. It was really woreout by my senior year, so dad took home a used '64 Tempest of the used car lot. 326 and a 3 on the floor. ( Dad was against 4 speeds..they are for racing ya know!). Well we did not get that, but then he found a '64 Ford custom 2 door post with 289 and 3 on tree. That heavy sucker could barely chirp a tire taking off.
My first used "musclecar" I bought was a 68 Olds 442. Around '83? Kid had it was in college in Ks., he was from Ca. No rust, perfect cat, $1000/ Sold it to start my lifelong love affair with Mopar.
What is truly so sad is all the great sheetmetal/cars that went to the crusher!!! No matter what brand!!!

Nothing wrong with a Buick. Classy, luxury, muscle cars! When I got my 1st real job, out of school, I considered buying a 1970 GSX from one of the salesmen where I worked (similar to the photo).

We have a young couple in our club that had a BIG BUICK ELECTRA 225

Somebody offered him stupid money for it, so it has been sold. Now this young couple have a baby on the way (May) and needed a new, more family oriented ride.

Deuce and a Quarter. In 1981, my father-in-law bought one - a 76 or so, can't remember for sure, but it looked almost exactly like this one except for the color - for my stepdaughter because he thought it would be "safe." Had a smog 455, four barrel carb, single exhaust and (if I remember correctly) a catalytic converter. Don't know how many of you have any experience with GM's pellet catalytic converters, but they were horrendously restrictive. Car was really torquey, felt powerful until you wound it out and realized it fell on its face about 4 grand. We timed it at ten seconds zero to 60. Always wondered how much faster it would have been with just a good dual exhaust system. Anyway, my stepdaughter thought it wasn't cool, so we bought her an Opel GT and sold the Electra to a brother for $600. We thought that was a really good price. LOL

Still looking for the 1968 "225 Limited" Picture.

LeSabre's were fun. Beat the **** out of those. :usflag:
Paid $50 for the 64, I was broke, used it for a year to get to work and sold it for $75. Even made a few passes with it at Atco.
Think the 63 cost me $85 at a farm auction.

Sadly the gorgeous Regal got totaled :( THE Day This Picture was Taken.
Tow truck driver loved it made an offer while hooking up the wreak at the scene and we closed the deal the next day. I kept the wheels and tires.
