Responded to a “Looking For” Request

A couple weeks ago there was a Wanted To Buy posted. NOS only with a part number. I spent an hour finding the two I had, both perfect. I took pictures, went to PM them, and the post had been deleted. Not marked Found, which would have been fine, just poof, gone. I wasn't really looking to sell them anyway, but would have helped a FABO member. Next time I prolly won't be as quick to be helpful.

Did he leave his email or phone number in the wanted ad?

It's common for new members to do that on want or for sale ads. Even reply's. They just don’t know the rules

I do a quick check of any buyer or sellers post history. I little digging can save you from a big PITA.

Scammers tend to reply to wanted ads. Then they don't expose themselves to the whole group who may recognize them.
