i have built a few 68 - 69 Darts but never found them overly attractive like camaro's cudas chevelles, chargers and such. They are basically a stylish box but just seem to be very business-like with attitude!

Art, hell yeah ! ... back in the day anyway. For me '68 Charger from day one, I was in love. :) This Chrysler 300 is so smooth and it's lines are incredible. For me, no question, art. I could post 50 more pictures from the 50/60's alone of "masterpieces" from all the manufacturers. When you see a car that you would not change a thing, you've found it. IMHO

My Duster has to be art, it's supposed to be admired from a distance, right?

Makes it harder to see ALL the flaws

I think 68 dart S/S is cream of the crop, I put it in top 5 as number 1 of all mopars. and there's at least 50 cars before I even think of another brand.
Basically everything from 62 up Mopar is art, with exceptions and mid 50s chrysler. ( No offense 4 door guys & gals, I just can't dig em)

Multiple votes are allowed, I put no & yes.
Hahahahahahhahajajajjaajanahahahahhaahahahahahhahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahaha

You know they are all special on many levels to us. We find one that holds a really special place to each of us. Mine has always been the 68 Darts since I saw my first Hemi car and bought my GTS. It’s just a form that I love.

I see automotive art as a visceral form of expression more than one form of art. You have color, form, motion, and sound. I'm not a fan of car shows but I love cruise night, but not for cruising I park on the route and get out the lawn chairs and watch the parade. Seeing the cars in motion, herring the engine, the exhaust note, smelling the rubber and unburned fuel, vewing the car do what it was built for.

One of my favorite videos is of Micky Thompson about 1969, the Mustang funny car just hits the chutes and for a brief moment lifts the car off the strip sideways then snaps it strait. There were pictures in the magazines of the day but they didn't do that ride justice, the motions the car made were beautiful and made an impression on a 12 year old kid in South Dakota.
Now that is art to me, automotive art.

Every single thing to come out of my shop is made by hand.

Come shape a flat plate into a sexy part by hand. Dont forget to draw it out in your head first.

My shop is always open to folks who want to learn.

I make parts. I use fire to shape steel. I make art every day.

If we dont teach / encourage a new generation we are doomed.

I love the body lines of the Mopar and yes they are a work of art. But the real works of art are the 50's Mopars. My favorite Mopars as far as the best looking as far as body designs...57-61 Plymouth, Chrysler and Dodges the whole forward look.67-69 Dart,67-69 Barracuda,66-69 Coronets,66-70 Chargers,68-71 Satellite ,Road Runner-GTX, 63-64 Belvedere- Fury .The Best of the Best in design in the Mopar world IMO. Just works of art
