Ebay Evaporator for 74 Duster?

I'm getting ready to replace my heater core and re-seal my heater/AC box. The only replacement evaporator I can find is on Ebay. Has anyone used those with good results or know anywhere else to get a replacement?

My car was a slant six with factory air but none of the under hood AC stuff has been installed since the 318 was swapped in almost 20 years ago. Hoping to do that this winter. Looks like Ill be piecing together components since none of the aftermarket kits seem to work with factory AC.
 
Is you original bad? They are pretty durable.

When I did mine a few years ago, new were not available. Given the quality of a lot of repop stuff I would be leery of the quality.
 
Fill it full of Coca Cola and cap the ends. Let it sit like 12 hours and flush with water. Pressure test and look for leaks (1-2psi)
If no leaks then your good and now clean.
 
Thanks for the replies. I thought I read somewhere that if the system has been open for awhile, there’s a good chance of corrosion inside and best to replace it. I’ll see what it looks like when I get it out and try the Coca Cola/pressure check idea.
 
When I did mine, I replace the dryer & expansion valve & left it on the vacuum pump all night. After I tracked down a couple leaks, it has worked fine. If you don’t have one, Freon leak detectors are about $30 or less on Amazon and work great.
 
Fill it with AC flush and let it sit a few days then blow it out. Fill something with water that will submerge it with the pipe outlets in the air. Plug one side and set your compressor pressure regulator to 100 lbs (when off and the pressures equalized it will have 100+ pounds in it). Look for bubbles in the water, just like looking for a slow leak in a car tire. I would only use an aftermarket evaporator or heater core as the last, last resort.

I did this same thing back in the day. I found my leak, soldered it up, did the water test again and no bubbles. Worked great!

Like every good project, it snowballed on me a bit. I’ve been meaning to paint the dash, so I went ahead and removed it.

The replacement heater core didn’t line up like it should, and even after tweaking it, I wasn’t happy with it so I’m going to call Glen-ray later this afternoon and see about getting mine re-cored. I tried a local shop but he thought it would be over a month before he could get the stock in to do it. They are going to flush and leak check the evaporator for me tho. I’ll try and attach a couple pictures here if I can figure it out
