Never seen this yellow sticker before. Next to the fender tag.
Car was said to be so very original. Maybe it is, so what does it say?
Also radiator is new to me, or did Chrysler have a couple different rads to choose from?
Last pic the BB radiator you usually found when delivered from Hurst.

Got a pretty lengthy thread about it. I thought the "never raced" thing was a complete laughable joke. lol

Car was raced 68 to 77 or so. Found with blown motor. Just wasn’t cut up for wheel tubs and full roll cage like many other S/S car were in 1978?.

sounded like Tom Hoover found it with blown motor. Then Lou? Mancini bought it. Not sure if it had one or two yellow repaints

The car was painted yellow. And was green on the outside at least at one time. And of course the engine compartment was black originally.

So then the engine is now non matching?

That article has misleading errors on the history of this particular car. The Mecum write up is more accurate.

This yellow dart was raced from 68 to about 77-78. But it was not heavily wheel tubbed and did not get a full extensive cage. It wasn’t cut up by typical 1978 standards. And that is how Tom Hoover stumbled onto it in Pennsylvania where he was originally from. It had a “blown motor”. That’s a pretty generic term.

BTW, Tom left Chrysler to work for a Locomotive company in 1978.

Competitive NHRA S/S cars by 1978 had full wheel tubs and full roll cages. This particular car may have been racing in another lesser class and/or sanctioning group.

To build a clone today, what choices do I have for a radiator besides finding an original and having it recored ???
Or if I was just a building a nice 68 with a hemi crossram and not worrying about radiator numbers, are there other 68 BB style radiators that would fit and work ?
I’d like to know what’s in that yellow car,
any idea ???

I was sneaky enough to pick the rad from my ´68 SB Formula S, before it went. Looks identical exept for #031 instead of 033, the BB rad has. But guess it is not easy to find one out of a 340 car either.
Think there are even alu rads with a nice OM style top can if you look around.

Like was said, 031’s are out there and you move the outlets for big block.

Glen Ray sold 033’s repro, but doesn’t do them now. Maybe call them.

Something just seems wrong about this car.
Glenn Ray does not reproduce the 033 Radiator anymore. The company that was stamping the tanks, throw the stamps away.

Yes, I was involved in getting the radiators reproduced. Bob was pissed when they said they threw the dies away because he didn't order anymore in a timely manner. The radiator in this car is not the original, looks to be a 69 style. Don't know what the sticker said as the hood was not off the car when I saw it at Mecum. Has a line lock on the fender and a cable tach drive also...
