i'm talking about the braided wire cable.
maybe try it this way. take the braided wire out of the anchor. leave the anchor in the carb linkage. push the carb linkage back so it's WOT, mark the braided wire so it will slide into the anchor an inch or so...cut the wire there and insert it into the anchor, tighten up set screw.
have your other adjustment methods all in the midrange so you can fine tune if needed after cutting the wire..
that ^ method will probably just pull your thorttle pedal up higher inside the car. Try what Bewy said first perhaps. maybe that will get you there...
