Hi Folks

Has anyone tried this stuff as an assembly lube for engines, transmissions or differentials? The bottle says that is is not solvent based and mixes with engine oil and/or transmission fluid. Nice and gooey and stays put.

Thanks

Isn’t that Lucas stuff akin to Slick 50 with all the marketing nonsense? IDK, I haven’t tried it and see zero reason to when there is this:

I’m a proponent of using assembly lubes specifically for the application, not a one size fits all.

I got a case of it along with a case of Lucas engine break in oil from a guy when I went to buy a transmission Jack. He was closing his shop and gave it to me. That's how I got it. Looks like it would be good for chain lube because I would never dump a bottle of it in my automatic transmission.

I'd use it to lube my Poulan chainsaw, but that's about all. You get what you pay for.

Permatex Ultra Slick is a really good product.

I used permatex on mine i had a small bottle of this green assembly lube that came with my crank bearings It was really really thick I used it on the bearings since thats what they came with and used permatex on everything else.

Clevite bearing guard is all of used for years. When I worked in the engine shop we always used it on the ford mod motors because you couldn’t prime the oil pumps. Stuff does a great job at protecting the engine on start up.
