I’m going to have 2 pass side springs on both sides; 002 spring.

Going to try to hook 600+ lb/ft of torque on a 275/60 drag radial.

What shocks for a street/strip car?

Go...

Shocks that will work would be competition engineering drag shocks. They extend longer.

There are more...but that's what use.

That’s the shock I was thinking of, but it’s been a long time since leaf springs. Just wondering what else everyone has had success with. Not interested in the cal trac deal...

3 way adjustable, cheap.

I have mine on the lowest setting.

If someone wanted...they could buy extensions and run regular run of the mill...but it's not as good, just keeps them shock from binding.

Yea, the extension deal is too old school. Been there, done that...back when we hadn’t discovered C body shocks yet. Lol!

You have yours on the 70/30 setting?? Mind sharing your combo??

Sb 340- 392 hp 4spd 245 60 14 street tires.

The tires are a big factor in my example.

That’s one of the few good things about SS springs. As long as the shocks don’t top out, almost any shock will do.

I've got SS springs and standard hydraulic shocks for a 70s Dodge pickup. It runs high 1.30 to low 1.40 sixty foot times.

SS type springs, PO had STOCK length shocks... wondered why, when hanging a light corner, just a look bit Hot, She would lift and then lock back down... D-100 front shocks on the rear here. Thanks FABO! Needed her rolling for a Bros Memorial after a 20 year Battle w Brain Cancer.

When I built my Hardtop RB 500 kit /727/8 3/4 (Braced) SS springs , I put my slant six shocks in temporally just to get it going. Runs mid 11's with 323 gear. It's been 6 years now lol.

I'm running the Rancho 9000 9 way adjustable they work alright but if your serious a nice double adjustable like Viking might be a good choice .

Any 50/50 valved shock will do in the rear. Obviously adjustable is a nice thing to have.

FWIW, I have Comp Engineering shocks that I am replacing when My vikings come in. Only a couple thousnad miles on them. I just wanted adjustables. Nothing wrong with them. I am replacing all 4. I will post for sale when available. The shocks were never tested with 600 hp. I do have ss springs.

I run Vikings on the front of my car. They are exceptional. I make 602hp

Perhaps I’m overthinking this. I have new Monroe c-body shocks; think I’ll use them and see what happens.

Hey Rocco can you post a link on the ones you are running . i would think they would be awesome on the front . i'm running 90 -10's now but am thinking on changing to the Viking DA .

It was recommend in the Mopar chassis book in the mid 80s so that's what I did.
I thought it worked pretty well, the shocks are 2" longer than stock...

I am running 2 passenger side SS springs with a lowering front Bracket and stock gas shocks.
No issues, but this is just a cruizer.

They are 2 way adjustable vikings from Bill Reilly (RMS) That's as far as I can take you

Rancho 9000 9 way adjustable is what I found to work and is what I have now. I also had good luck with QA1's adjustable

Yep. I recall a SS/AA dipping in the 9’s for the first time. SS springs and C-body shocks and very close to 700 hp. Yes, I’m thinking too much lol

I run the S/S springs 002 and 003 with competition engineering shocks. They work great. Make sure when you order your shocks, that they extend to how far your springs hang down when the car is jacked up by the frame. If your shocks are to short the S/S springs will not work the way they are made too.
