Off to grab a thermostat and gasket. Getting tired of freezing my tail off in my truck. It is almost 40° outside so working in the garage with the door open won't be too bad.

%%%$@##%@@$@!!!!!!!!!!! Broke a thermostat housing bolt off. I am bailing on the project. It's way down in there and I don't have what it is going to take to get it out. I wish @Tooljunkie was close. He would probably weld a nut to the bolt and screw it out. :BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:

Ouch. Bolt extraction kit handy?

Heads up Craig I may be blasting down to KC tomorrow to fetch some equipment being held hostage at a vendors. They are claiming weather delay for last three days. If I do I will ping ya. I see a road map issue in my future. Get lost spend night in KC head back to Fargo next day.

Morning sunshine! Hope you are enjoying being home. I would be in the pool by now getting some post cardio cardio!
Need to drain it for new water again. Water here Sucks.Even with putting in the chemicals...Do that today...

Understand, we swapped over to saltwater in hot tub and I really like it. The chemical upkeep is dramatically less. We are trying to sort out pool design for new house now. I am a fish and love to lap swim but fear my shoulders are about done. To many years of weight lifting and swimming. Not sure how much longer I can swim. I have already modified weight training down to high rep low weight. But rotating arm over shoulder sucks. Not sure how to design pool shape and accommodate cardio in pool and still be recreational for the grandkids. Our well cranks 100 gallons per minute so that helps!

Maybe you need one of those hot tubs where you can swim against the current provided by the jets.

Hah! The last time I went South for equipment I ended up in Waterloo? Only a hundred miles or so off course. As a complete and total coincidence I ran into TMM there. Took me a day and a half to leave Iowa! Just sayin…..

Nope. I just give it a few tack welds, stack em high enough to grab with a vise grip.

Yep, I have seen it done with exhaust manifold studs. There's a guy locally that has a portable tig welder that does that. He shows up and extracts broken bolts and studs. $100 for the trip and the first extraction. $50 for each additional. Cheap at twice the price.

Well, we got hammered. Not Mikes liquor cabinet type hammered, heavy snow hammered. Driveway to shop will be impassable by morning. The fixed tractor didnt leave, so i will make use of it in the morning. I put in shop after we decided not to deliver it.

went and bought gas, avalanche had just under 1/4 tank and i had a jerry can to fill. $60 in truck made it to 1/2 tank.too damn windy to stand there and fill. $ 30 in 5 gallon jug and it wasnt full
$1.41/litre here.

tomorrow is going to be a long day.

I do them with a TIG as well it is much easier. I build up a little tit then when I am above grade a weld a washer on, then weld a nut to the washer. When I pull off and the nut is Cherry hot I cover it in a cold wet rag to get some shock and shrinkage. Then screw em out easy peasy. Holy crap I just read that back and thought Karl is going to fillet me!

I went to station to refill jerry cans with diesel number one and the wind blew the jerry cans right off the truck bed. Tomorrow is gonna suck. I positioned one truck up top at edge of drive so I have a chance of getting out in morning.
