Intake Choice for 400/512 Stroker

I find the dual plane vs single plane arguments very interesting. What I found on my car is I have enough converter that it doesn’t seem to care with the big motor. It’s a tight 9 1/2” but it flashes low 4 range. 4.10 gear with a 28” tire. Mind you though this is a very street friendly combo. I often drive this combo on 100+ mile round trips. I’ve driven it on the expressway, to work, etc. I shift it 5800-6000 range.

here’s the time slips with a port matched six pack. This is through exhaust, driving to the track, on DOT’s

No changes other than a ported TM6 and a 4150/1050AN carb. Also drove to the track on this day. Pretty much same weather conditions as when I ran it with the six pack. Not really a huge change either way.

Now I’ve also played with a Indy single plane that’s M/W ported with a dominator. I expected the port match to bother it as well as expected it to be lazy down low (didn’t really seem to be the case). While I don’t have any track data this combo flat *** ran. I would say hands down the strongest set up I’ve had on the car. I currently have the six pack back on it but I’ve done more porting, work on the dividers, and I now run a mechanical six pack (end carbs flow slightly more). This combo is also really strong (probably not as good as the Indy intake) but, I don’t have any track data on it either. My car is 4000# with me so it’s not lite. Very similar to what the OP wants to do. My results would probably be more dramatic with a tight converter but, to pull the et down you need something in the ball park like what I run. I’d have no issues running a 3.54 with this converter either. Its surprisingly tight when just normal driving. When I ordered it I was willing to give up et for drive-ability.
