The transmitter module takes a single small battery and has double stick tape which I decided not to use. I drilled two holes in the mounting plate after removing the sticky tape and used small screws, about no3 machine screws, you could use 4-40 whatever.
It has some kind of tilt switch so when the lid is flopped down, it transmits a short signal which activates the house receiver. It beeps several times, then locks an LED powered. Has a reset button to turn that off. So far it has worked well. I am not far off the street, box is across a 2 lane residential street
