I was looking for a couple of exhaust manifolds for a slant 6. I went from owning none to 3 cars that have them. My son broke one, another one is cracked so I found some new ones on Amazon. Everybody that had used ones either said that they have one but flapper is broke or the bolts wont come out or broke off in the holes and they wanted between 75-100 plus shipping. I found this one on Amazon for $199.95 shipped to the house. Not a whole lot of difference in price and it is new. Fits perfect. I am satisfied with it. looks good. here are some pics.

What brand is that? The casting doesn't look near as crappy as the new ones I've seen.

I'm with Rusty. I bought a 'new' one a few years back and the casting was just horrible. It took a LOT of grinding just to make it useable.
The one in the pics looks pretty good, WAY better than the one I got.

I bought one many years from a company called Silver Seal out of Michigan and it was shipped to my door within 3 days for under $200....

Dont know what brand it is, not on the manifold but it comes from a company called JJ original equipment. I also think I found that Dorman makes these also but you know how Dorman is,sometimes they are good and sometimes not so much. But I am happy with this one.

Dorman was the brand I ordered in like three or four of and they all looked like rotten dawg ***. Just awful.

I got one a few years back and I've been very happy happy with it!

I'm not a slant six expert by any means and am wondering? What is that sheet metal piece they include? I got one with mine also but didn't use it.

On the later model vehicles, that is the hot air stove. A flex duct goes from that piece, to a connection on the carb air cleaner. It allows for faster warmup, lower emmision, and better fuel economy

Looking at the 1st couple of pix above, looks like a pretty hefty ring of casting slag just inboard of the exhaust flange outlet. Pretty deep lip there any way.
I'd be at least cleaning that up and blending it with the rest of the surrounding casting with a die grinder and sandpaper/flapper wheel.

it goes around the exhaust pipe. if you look at the pic above you can see it in front of the starter. its a shield

I got one of those a couple of years ago also. Pretty decent piece. My biggest gripe is the outlet machining was at a "not so correct" angle. It didn't kick out quite far enough. But, overall, better than many I got & returned.
