I hate selling and buying anymore..

Agree, can’t stand when people say “make an offer” educate yourself on what you are selling and ask a damn price! Or don’t educate yourself but still put on a price! When I go to swap meets I rarely buy stuff if there is no price...then I ask and they give me the same old line so I just pass... as I put it down and walk away they still try to get a price from me....people always try to buy low, so if I make an offer it will probably be too low anyway. I see this more and more, online and meets, mostly I think it boils down to 2 things, people are just being damn lazy or they just don’t know what the heck they are selling....and again too lazy to research it’s value.

At the swap meets I’m known as “cheap parts guy”, and as such I don’t usually have prices on my stuff. Reason being that I don’t like to lower the price on the tag if it doesn’t sell. I also like the art of conversation, and some spirited haggling, tho rarely needed. If I have something that I know is valuable, I try to price it under market by just a bit so somebody gets a good deal, if I had to put a price on it I would have to price it higher, to avoid the lowball offers.

Funny example… I had a flywheel that I got in a deal, wasn’t really sure what it was from, but it had “130” written on it for the tooth count. I had it sitting on the corner of my table and a guy walked up and said “would you take $120”? and I said sure. After he walked away I realized that he thought 130 was the price. In reality, I would’ve started the haggle at $75 and probably taken $60.
