Interestig bearing/balancer/whatever Puller

-
Hope the user is wearing safety glasses and a flack jacket... for when that $20 harbour freight / CTC puller explodes.

Bad idea the way it was done....or just a bad idea, period?
The part welded to is not steel, looks to me to be malleable
Malleable is not good to weld on let alone anything that involves strength
Those tacks welds are inadequate for the tonnage of the jack no matter what the base material is

So...great idea, lousy execution?

Planning an idea similar to this.

Dangerous?
Think about standing there with a wrench spinning a nut and something breaks. Not same explosive idea?

Nothing a few beers and a camera won't fix!
Hey Bubba, Hold my beer and watch this.

I've got enough holes in my head already! Even MY welding looks better than that rigged up POS, and I am no welder. If something won't come right apart with the pressure exerted by the puller in its original form, just tighten it up as far as you can get it, and let it sit a while. A little heat may help, but there's no reason to build an explosion waiting to happen. :realcrazy:

Work on some old farm equipment or heavy construction equipment

Same idea but manufactured. I commend him on the execution for less cost. Yes he may need to refine his welding or switch some parts out to have something better.
