I hate selling and buying anymore..

Whenever I go look at something to buy I need to know two things
1 what is it honestly worthy
2 what is my budget

I remember looking at a log splitter that had the cylinder tore apart

with the cylinder intact and working it was probably and honest 300 dollar machine

my budget however was also $300 so that didn't leave room to fix anything

I explained this to the seller and told him the best i could do was $200

he said nope, cant do it, and i said "allright, thank you for your time"
as i was getting in the truck he called out and said "$200 and you take it right now?"

i said lets load her up

and that turned out to be a good deal, because once i got it home i found out the ram was welded to the cylinder and there was no way to get the new seals on without cutting that ram back off

but since i bought it with enough room in my budget i could get a new cylinder and not break the bank

now, on the flipside, i have also walked up to an item i wanted to buy, inspected it and told the seller "what you are asking is a fair shake and im not gonna beat you down over it"

sure , i want a good deal, but if the sellers asking price IS a good deal, im all set

I just love the low ballers, like I need the money. I’ve been listing and selling cars for a friend for the last 6 months. I have a car listed right now for $400, just a parts car, but we’ll worth the price if you need it, and it’s complete. I get an offer from a kid I know, but he doesn’t know me…$100. I tell him what he already knows, scrap is $240/ton right now and my buddy just wants me to scrap it, but I felt that maybe somebody could use it for parts. The kids family owns a scrap yard, why would I drop the price $300 for him to make money on it?

if the $400 includes the kubota you got yourself a deal
