I have a 1970 Challenger roller.

And a shop.

What would you want?

What would be most important?

I have to see the dart as less than. That is the way forward. The dart sucks. Its WAY to much race car to drive any distance.

I want to show case our talent building race cars but not end up with a dang race car.

I want A.C., Overdrive, cup holders.

i'd want a driver. i don't need the fastest car out there.. peppy yes but nothing crazy. modern hemi would be nice.. a nice 6.1 or 6.4 should do it.. have to keep the efi, no doubt it needs OD. i'd also want an alter k front end set up.. love the feel of that rack. 18" wheelset. would need a/c, also needs better seats.. something redone so it holds you properly and reclines but doesn't look total out of place...

Im not sure how I feel lately.

Fast can be fun.

Fast in an old car, down the coast, with the AC on......

A bad *** drive train, race suspension, 1 very comfortable seat with everything in it.
Heat/A/C, power everywhere/everything, back massager, leg massager, and anything I missed!

Forced induction, overdrive, EFI, A/C, good insulation, great brakes & tires and compliant suspension. You know, like that yellow '68 convertible that stops by your shop from time to time. (blower in the works)

Hell sell it all and buy a Hellcat. Give it a little tune up to 800 ponies, great ride, ac, tunes, power everything and great gas millage to boot!

I would have my damn daughter's boyfriend had one 4,000 miles, purple
and all the goodies. He sold it to a DEALER for 47k and never asked me. I am seriously thinking about it just keeping one car for my racer and selling the rest of them. Need someone to buy them all in a pkg deal.

Buy a hellcat! Lol sorry buddy I couldn't help myself.
You could do like a retro mod. Modern suspension and steering with a 6.4 hemi supercharged and full comfy interior. It would run 11s easy and still be comfortable to drive

Sounds like a stroker motor is in the future, with a realistic hp number, approx 450 hp. Overdrive trans of your choice; plus interior out of a newer Challenger.

I think I blended pretty good, good comfy seats and a engine that can turn 9s or better, twin turbo set up. But stock console modified for cup holders cause I wanted to cruise and draft race it. But I will be changing the seats to the poly seats I just didnt want to cut these seats for the submarine belt, now you could go with comfy seats that offer the crotch opening for the race car belts.

Race car & comfort.
Efi, od, comfy seats, power windows all around, and crappy paint.

Start, drive, park anywhere anytime.

A Gen II (style) hemi build behind a Tremec 6 speed trans. Add EFI on top for tunable Street. Dana 4.10 drag pack. (Shouldn't need spool. Unless hemi goes north of 750 HP.)

My 451 Duster has ran up against 2 Hellcats. Once amber lit? Never saw them again.

OK:

1. I'd do a modern Hemi and the automatic transmission they come with. Up to you whether you use a supercharger.

2. If money was no object, I would go with a full frame that goes underneath your car. There are a few available. Here is one: 1970–1974 E-Body, Challenger, Cuda Chassis - Schwartz Performance

3. I would keep it looking as Mopar as possible on the inside. I'd find some really comfortable front buckets from a Lexus, modern Challenger, whatever. and have them re-covered to look as much like the original coverings as possible in leather. Have the rear seat matched.
4. Paint it a color available in 1970 with a hemi stripes.
5. Run the AC through Factory looking vents.

Man, She looks like a BEAST!
She's fast. But not stupid fast. It's manageable. A little hairy for pure street use. (Also would need bigger fuel cell. Lol)

I believe the A-body Duster is the best first time platform anyone could select for a drag/street build? Certainly the least expensive. Thus best bang for the buck in the Mopar world? You can still build a Chevy for less. (I'm guessing Nova for pure performance per dollar?) But a Duster will keep costs closer to Chevy? (While still keeping some classic muscle appearance and appeal?) A K-car would be less. But would look like a K-car? Hideous! Lol.

Front and Rear Factory Sway Bars.

The E Bodies have the widest track of the mopars, add the rear factory sway bar (probably already has the front).
Such a nice handling car.
