Worst trends in hot rodding over the years

Cracks me up, when old is new and new is old. The big thing was stance way back then.
stock front up in back
stock in the back up in the front
up all the way around
all four corners down
I now see the suv and big pickups squating in the rear and stock up front,

What about the these paint jobs with the wave lines, splatter bubbles and multiple stripes

The true "Hot Rod" crowd came from post WWII. Where they took their war improvisational mechanics skills and applied to cars to make them perform better. The bulk were the "Lakesters" that ran their high performance machines on the dried lake beds out West. This of course gave birth to Drag Racing. And the now "Gassers"

That crowd was not fans of Muscle Cars. Calling them "Factory sellouts." And did that detour any of us? Nope. We had a platform that cannot only compete with the hotrods of yesteryear on the track. But also maintain some streetabilty? (And in my opinion an improved "Cool" factor.)

The collapse of raw performance due to environmental concern brought an end to the Muscle car era. (At least as we knew it.) In the mid 70s. This of course gave birth to the "Tuner" crowd starting in mid 80s. They found ways around the EPA restrictions to their credit. But also brought styling changes that leaves us Muscle heads just scratching?

Now it's EV's turn. With some very impressive performance numbers as well as efficiencies. Yes, they fall even farther behind in the "Cool factor." But it is the future. Where Mom's grocery getter can lay down an 11 sec 1/4 if she so choose. Advancements will not wait because of crying and hoping "Fonzi" rides in and saves the day? I'm looking forward to my first EV purchase. Just needs a little more range and better charging support. I would say 4-5 years from now?

Well said.

And let's not forget that any wheel larger then 15 inches looks like CRAP on a muscle car

I would say diesel trucks with a chromed trash can exhaust tip.

That's just your opinion... While of course you're entitled to it that's all it is...
While I'm not a large wheel fan I do appreciate others enthusiasm for what they like... I don't understand the necessity to put something down that doesn't conform...

My fav trend

If you can't knock on Chevy's on an all Mopar only site... then the sky must be falling.
I used to say this 5 screen names ago and it's still true today.... I can't stand "car guys". I like to hang out with Mopar people, that's why I'm here!

Enjoy driving your cordless drill, toxic waste machine, polyethylene cancer off gassing newest future edition to the landfill in some poor part of someone elses country...

Retro fitting is conservation, not continous mass production of plastic battery powered ****.

Lol
Remember those frame cracking later model trucks like in the pic? They were such a let down... and those iroc camaros...with the plate frames that said "Iroc the ladies".... they were cylinder head cracking garbage barges.

Work on them while growing up 'like me' and you'll understand .
Your last three posts provide us with a great insight on your hate and discontent... I really feel bad for how bitter you are...
My last square body Chevy was one of the best trucks I ever had.. I hold tons of scrap metal with it for years and years.. never had a problem with it and it drove smooth almost as if it was like a car... I love my Dodge truck and wouldn't trade it for anything but it drives like crap...

Again I'm not full of hate and discontent but if you'd like to read that into it by all means you just don't understand my sense of humor. Maybe your Dodge drives like crap cuz you work on it? Chevy's ..they Ride Like cars when they're trucks.. bounce all over loaded...the frame cracks.. you must not have loaded anything but aluminum sheet metal perhaps. Idk.
