Found out that my 727 is not leaking from the pan gasket (3 gaskets later...) but from the neutral safety switch. It was loose and I tightened it up but it still appears to be dripping slightly from the threads after sitting for some time.
It is not wired on my car (there is another wired somewhere) and I would rather just remove it and plug it.

Combed some threads but couldn’t find it...anyone know the thread specs? Rather not pull it to try and match it and have to drain a bunch of fluid for the 4th time...

Its a 69 Dart but have no idea on year of the 727 or how to ID that but its a 3 pin switch. Thanks in advance!

probably the plastic/rubber seal is knicked.

Mine was not dripping from the threads, but from the plastic center piece. Be sure to replace it with an NOS unit. I got a new one from NAPA and it did not work properly. Got one from Rick E. on EBay and worked perfectly.

Does anyone know if a 3/4-16 o-ring fitting would sufficiently plug the hole (if not using a stock NSS)?

Exactly. Can leak from electrical contacts. I got NOS from CRT. Also, there is a short and long switch. Get the right one.

I don't trust that weird gasket washer. I put plumber's pipe joint compound on all of those along with the washer.

Use the original switch with pipe sealant such as Loctite 567. No more leak....

For anyone still wondering on this thread or for future reference... I bought a couple Moroso 3/4-16 oring plugs, used some pipe thread sealant (despite it being an oring, I know) and tightened her down. Drove her around 3 times since with absolutely zero leaks!
