In Australia in the early 60s, as a hot rodder, you were King O' the Kids if you owned a Ford Customline, particularly the 59 Star Model. These were sold here in large numbers prior to the Falcon & had the 272 Y block. Chryslers & Chevs were more expensive, & were out of reach for most young blokes like me. My second car was a 59 Cusso [ that was the Aussie slang for the customline ] & performance was anemic...
