I drove a friend's 12.5 to 1 440 coronet, running mid tens on e85. Most vivid memory was sitting idling in the staging lanes in California, on an 85° day, trying to get the engine warmed up enough to make a pass. Water pump off. Fans off. Owner says you have no chance of leaving the starting line good at less than 180°.
I'm betting you were leaving the line at what was stone cold for e85.
