They are out there, a friend of mine has his dads 68 340 S car, it still has most of its original paint, with a few primer spots. I bet I could buy it for 6K.

I very well may have to expand my choice of a car as well. It doesn't have to be a mopar. I only asked if anyone knew of a car for sale close to st.louis, I've explained several times why I can't travel all over looking at cars. I have enough sense to know that I'll still have to work on it and it's possible that the car I get just might need a little TLC which is fine with me. I don't want to be disrespectful, but I can tell that most of the guys on here have big money and cost is no object for them, I don't have that luxury.

I know where there is a 1967 mustang with all I want plus a new paint job for 25k and it's not far from where I live. I'm not going to pay over inflated prices for a car that the market doesn't support.

5 hobby cars, 4 currently on the road. Built my own shop. House paid off, 2 kids through college, retired early. Never made even close to 6 figures, combined. If you want it bad enough, you find ways to do it, not ways to make excuses.

You think that only happens to YOU? It happens to everyone. We aren’t going to the car lot to find this stuff. This stuff is 50-60 years old and when purchased they were used for daily transportation, pulling trailers and boats and doing everything. Most of them weren’t purchased to sit in the garage so that 50 years later they could seek it as new.
You have options. Either lower your expectations, spend more money, be willing to do more work or some of all of those.
Or find a new hobby. You always say WHY you can’t find something. That’s an excuse. If you want it bad enough you’ll figure out what to do.

I'll find a car on my own. I've asked if anyone knew of a car that's for sale close to the st.louis area, I've explained why I can't travel far. And then everyone says that I'm not looking hard enough or I don't want to go the distance to look. I'm not going to pay more than I can afford just to have a car and I'll stay with in the area that I can travel which is a couple hundred miles from where I live.

I'm probably going to have to hire a company to go inspect a car for me. I can't always plan on being somewhere as I don't know how I'll feel from day to day. Being born with a curved spine and then having arthritis plus other back problems makes life not so easy.

Mecum has auction in Kansas City. Look at lot list and pick car. If it sells early in week, cars can be bought reasonable.
