price is ok for that unit -- hopefully inside is in better shape than the outside --- i bought one of those outside stored mossy green 8-3/4 rear axles and the pics show what was inside , housing was rotted inside as well

This is a 489 case that I picked up for a price I just couldn't say no to. I took the risk not knowing if I could save any of it. Long story short it sat for 1 month in $8 worth of white vinegar. Bearings/seals are shot (duh) and I still haven't decided on the ring and pinion. Overall I'm very happy with the results and if it was a locker unit then I would definitely put the work in to save it.

If you don't want your rusty 8.75 center sections, then I'll buy them for the price of shipping and a beer! :lol:
