attention 8 3/4" gurus

price is ok for that unit -- hopefully inside is in better shape than the outside --- i bought one of those outside stored mossy green 8-3/4 rear axles and the pics show what was inside , housing was rotted inside as well

Price is "ok"?!

The price is darn good. Even if it's locked up and full of water, there's still probably $150 worth of parts there if you can get it apart. Heck you could probably get $30 just for the pinion snubber. If it's not locked up, which is really easy to check if you go there in person, then you probably have close to $500 worth of parts. I'd have been there the first day I saw it listed to spin it over. If it spins smoothly, it's a steal. If it spins but feels chunky, you could definitely still get more than $150 out of it.

Only way I'd pass on it is if it's locked solid. You could still get your money back if you could get it apart, but there is the risk that it won't come apart if it's locked up solid enough.
