What car deal did you get back in the day?

The car I wish I would have today out of all the cars I owned? There was Two. Both cars I do not have pictures of but one I syill have the title. It was stolen.

1969 Coronet R/T 440 4bbl. 4spd 410 Dana. Got it from my sister who bought it new. B7 blue black top and interior stripe delete. buckets and console, bubble hood. Chrome lugs only

second is

1969 Coronet R/T 440 six pack 4spd 410 Dana. Bought it in 1972 at age 17 with 1300 miles on it from the original owner at Georges Inn. Y2 yellow red interior no vinyl top stripe delete. buckets and console. fresh air hood. Full size hub caps. The first thing I did was install a pin on six pack hood. Cragars with slicks and headers. Paul George bought it at Berk Motors in West Catasauqua pa. Engine was special ordered new and came in a crate with the car and was dealer installed.

My GTO's were quicker then both but I had a lot of money in them. I always liked driving those Coronets. I had a couple more after that over the years even a convertible but they were not the same as having one new. You could not have even imagined how crazy those cars were to drive with Bias F70 14 tires from new.

I had some races that were close and some I lost. Two losses were to Hemi coronets. One 68 R/T Y2 Yellow called Bad news from Gene and Franks auto . And one Hemi 69 RT White with Red stripe owned buy Gary Schweikert. It ended up being used to make the give away clone at Carlisle Pa.

I beat that White Hemi off the show room floor. He put headers and slicks on and all I saw was taillights. Those were the days. The real street races back in the70's. My sisters husband would race that blue 69 at Fort dix in 69 before he left for Nam. That is when I ended up with it.
I had a picture of all three of our cars at an ice cream stand before a race. I Lost many old race pictures in a fire. The 68 was a 2 ft. wheel stander on the street. He had a bottle back then. Mine was the only 4spd out of the three. There was another Yellow 68 440 4spd. But he never raced. Roger Pogatta had a black 68 Hemi RR. he would show up once in a while. Very fast but he knock a hole in the moroso pan on the return lane and blew the motor at a track .

I could right a book . Once I get started on "Back in the Day" I go off on a tangent. So many dam cars and memories Sorry!
