more confused than ever (degreeing a cam)
I found out the high spot on the cam, zeroed the indicator and rotated the crank with degree wheel so the cam fell off 50 thou each side of that high spot and read the degree wheel.
I think maybe I see where im going wrong here. Maybe.
Going from "top down" instead of "bottom up".
I'm zeroing the indicator at high side of lobe.
Is it supposed to be zero on the bottom and measure"up" 50 thou on either side of that?
I wasn't relocating anything except for the crank and cam by virtue of rotating it, and the degree wheel "relocates" to a different degree reading. I haven't reset the degree wheel position since I verified TDC.
Nor have I reset my indicator after establishing "0" at top of highest lift point of cam lobe. Other than watching needle position, upon turning the crank and cam.
