GA - ME Roadtrip

What part of Maine will you be going to and when will you arrive? I’m on the N.H. border about 5 miles off 95. Love to host a visit.

I'm headed to Bridgton, which is right on the border of New Hampshire, I'd be happy to stop by at some point! I'll be up there for 8 weeks so I'm sure something can be worked out.

If you want to avoid the worst part of I-95 through Washington DC and take a more scenic route you can take a detour to Norfolk VA. Take I-95 N and go east on Rt. 58 at Emporia VA to Norfolk and then go on Rt. 13. Cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and stay on 13 until you get to I-95 near Wilmington DE.

I would take I95 north all the way from New England expressway to Providence. Then cut around Boston on the 495 loop. Less stressful.

I'd look at 77 to 81 to 88 to Albany then cut over to 91. Then depending on where in Maine you're headed.

If I were you I'd be looking for an alternative to all interstates. Through Virginia I'd take I-81 or better yet the old main road that parallels it - Rt 11...

Avoiding the interstates would be great. I'd like to cruise up there since this will be my first big solo roadtrip, not be trying to beat all the newer cars going 75-80 on the freeway. US 1 in georgia is pretty dead given that it goes through a whole lot of nowhere, good to know it is pretty busy up north and try to avoid that.
As I get more suggestions for spots to see and roads to take I'll plot it all on a map and figure it out.
