I’m at the end of my wits. The clips I got in my kit aren’t right. Top left appears to be the only one that will fit my car. It was the one I had the most of. Top right I have one piece. I can’t tell you where it came from, but the kit came with 18 that match it. Bottom left is from the kit and and don’t match anything that came off the car. Bottom right is a match to top right.

I could not find a position where either of the two new clips fit. The top left fit everywhere I tried it. My assumption is that if the clip sticks above the car, then it is too tall.

What am I doing wrong?

Watching as I hope to do same thing on our 67 cuda. I though there were 4 that went on sides(2 per side) and the rest along top and bottom?
What kit #?

I got my kit from DMT. This is the one I got. As I am looking around their site, I think this kit matches better what came off our car. So I guess I order the sedan kit and see if that fixes it for me? Either way, not installing the front glass tomorrow.

If it was me, I would chk other sites(BE&A, Year One etc) for other pics to use as a reference. Or call James @DMT and explain your issues??

@Kendog 170 probably, but the picture you have there is tied to a coupe (post) model. I think maybe the whole restoparts world has them backwards. I ordered that kit, we will see when it gets here

Were there complete clips on the car before you removed them? I looked at other retailers and noticed that 2nd gen barracuda clips and gaskets are different than dart for some reason.

They were all there... sort of. Most of them were rotted away to the point that I didnt even have to take the screws out. Of the originals, I have 11 left. 10 of the upper left, and 1 of the upper right (in my photo).

Is there any you could please measure the top of the windshield frame area and give me mark out dimensions of where the clips are screwed in? I had a vinyl top put on years ago in my 69 and the new top has covered up the screw holes for the trim clips.

I look forward to seeing pictures of your installed clips when you get the correct set installed!
Thanks!

Mine are @ 2" / 9" / 16.5 / 23.5 measuring from the A-Pillar inwards from each side . The middle 2 are only 3.5" apart center to center.
So they appear to be at specific intervals.

So the first time I ordered hardtop clips. Then I ordered sedan clips. Both times I got the same clips from DMT (the ones their website says are hardtop). So I am yet again delayed in installing the windshield.

Damn! So mispackaging either on mfg or DMT behalf! A phone call should be able to straighten this nonsense out!! Cant be that hard for them to go grab a pack of each and compare....

I did email them last night. They are going to send out the right ones.

Those are not the ones that came off my car. Tracking says I should have the replacements today. I will update.

That's kinda what I gathered. If they work I'm ok with it. It will be awhile before I get to that point. Hope you get what you're looking for.

New clips came in, and they fit perfectly. I dont know if the whole replacement parts industry has it backwards or if my car is somehow a mutant, but the SEDAN clips from DMT are the ones that match what came off my car. 16 of the short fat black clips that go across the top and down the A-pillar and in the corner on the front (every where there is a fence for the windshield gasket). 7 green clips go across the bottom where there is no fence. I made that deduction after the holes would not line up on the sides and top, and because it was an odd number, and the bottom is the only place that has an odd number of clips.
