Backup lamp switch

You can see in the 2nd pic some of the "bakelite" is chipped/missing. The backup lights arent turning on either. I realize I haven't troubleshoot but tight space to remove console right now.

Not connecting to ground when you put it in reverse?

Works on the same theory as the dome light switch in the door post.

Open the door, the switch grounds out and the dome light comes on.
