Tips for removing gauge cluster?

-
I have a 70 Dart and do pretty much everything Oldmanmopar says except I only remove the knob for the wipers. Went LED’s one of the times I was in there and they help a lot.

Any good recommendations for LEDs for the dash? I have a 72 Swinger and am looking to upgrade soon.

Thanks!

I got my leds from (super bright leds). I used green ones (72 Demon) .I don’t know why but oil and light light next to it would blink when turn signal was turned on. I replaced those two with standard bulbs and it worked fine.

Looks great!
The weird flashing could have been due to the older style elec.relays vs the newer electronic ones?

I used 168 194 2825 dash bulbs that you can get at most auto stores. One thing to keep in mind is that they are polarity sensitive. If it doesn’t light up, spin it 180 and try again. Great update, lights the gauges up much better.

I just had my Rallye dash out of my 71 Demon. As previously hinted at, a 3rd or even 4th hand would have sure been nice!!
As @Oldmanmopar stated, it's a good idea to put some tape on the lower dash to try to protect it during the removal and reinstallation.

IIRC 8 that fit in the small sockets. Be sure to check the connections on the grouping of pins on back of instrument panel. I had to resolder some of mine. Read above posts, as I had to also use a couple standard bulbs(not led):
