The only way to know is to pull the side cover and count all the teeth, then compare results to gear ratio charts. 1965 A body transmission would have been built with the 1:1 3.09 ratio gears. As was previously mentioned it would have been built with a ball and trunion rear joint, which may have been converted to 68 style slip yoke tail. As far as racing ratios, direct connection had several different ratio sets available including red stripe gear set.
