Ever notice how certain numbers keep popping up.

I also see 289, 302, 318, 340, 351, 360, 383, 440 and 460.

For some reason I don't notice Chevy displacements.

I also keep happening to look at the clock at 9:11:realcrazy:

What numbers do you routinely see?

I have glanced at the digital time displayed around the house and seen 11:11 far too often. I pointed this out to the wife a long while back. Today we both call it out when we see it. I started calling it "two tracks" like railroad. She says "leven leven". We can't know if it's significate or just coincidence. Who knows. I did just notice that you are recognizing 3 digits while I am seeing 4 of a kind. Wanna play some poker ? LOL
You know what?... it seems like every tiny aspect of my existence will show up in a thread here someday. Let's hope we all live so long.

Your dual dimension is the same for both
Ya, the company has a template that we have to use. Some where along the way it got messed up and no one has fixed it. Some times I turn off dual dimensions some times I don't. It is legacy from when we were still using standard vs metric.

My previous job was all metric, this job started as standard and in 6 months changed to metric. I had to relearn the feel for standard, but I was so happy to switch back to metric.

The long timers still work in standard

I keep telling them it's so much easier. The stuff we work on is all designed in metric so the numbers come out so much better.
0.001" =~ 0.025mm
0.002" =~ 0.050mm
0.003" =~ 0.075mm
0.004" =~ 0.100mm
Etc.

The work I do is basically pre-work for the MEs, they take my para solids and do their work from there. No one ever sees my work so as sloppy as it is it is of no consequence, EXCEPT for the development of bad habits.

When I first started I had all my dimensions lined up and purty. When my boss laughed at the time I took to make it purdy I decided not to bother.

8005657421 That, is ground into my memory. Why. give it a call, 50 years ago, Stompin Tom's radio commercial for the tourism of PEI. I'm damaged for life.

I know my dad's California driver license number. He would speak it to the cashier at the market rather than show it.
Just stuck

Stopped for a drink and a snack at a convenient store today. Came to $4.26.

My eyes are always drawn to house or building numbers that are 440 or contain 440 but hardly ever the other displacements. I tried to talk my wife into buying a house that was 440 because I really liked the way it would look with a car in the driveway with the matching number on the hood. She didn't like the kitchen...

I forgot the coolest number I have noticed yet. In my 67 Dart's vin is the number 6769, the only years the 67 body style (and I might add, the best body style) was made!

I see 517 all the time. It’s the lift of the cam in my 440 that I built 22 years ago. I put a cam in my 318, with the 1.6 rockers the lift is .517” I see that time on the clock all the time both Am and pm.
