Why doesn’t my Plymouth Duster have a passenger side mirror?

Passenger side mirrors on cars with wing vent windows always seemed oddly placed. Too far forward you can’t see much in them and probably can’t open the wing vent fully, too far rearward they look strange. Is yours in the way of the vent?

Mine is at the end of it's adjustment and I can see just ok with it. I can get the vent open probably half way.
