Anyone use these Mancini Slant 6 to B/RB mounts for a conversion lately? Pulling the 383 out of my Donor 65 Newport next weekend so the 67 Dart’s Slant 6’s days are numbered! Its time to order some conversion mounts.
I would welcome any thoughts on the product.

in the pics at least the insulators clearly look much thicker with the mancini mounts. whether that's a good or bad thing i'm not sure.
If the mounts are too thick they can cause fitment problems with the headers and the radiator fan/shroud. I would see how thick the transdapt units are before purchasing these.

Any issues with the thickness on the sets you have used Professor?
Nope.
Having never used the Mancini mounts, all I can say is that both sets are designed to use the rubber mounts that they come with- the metal brackets may differ slightly from each other to accommodate the thickness of the rubber biscuit that they come with.
That said, any swap mount kit may require some finessing to fit variations in your particular build- shimming the mounts for header/column clearance, etc. Nothing major usually. One thing I did change on the last one I did was to use a mid '80s truck isolator on the driver's side- it has interlocking fingers on it to keep it from tearing apart, so I didn't need to find room to fit a torque strap. The thickness is close enough to work with.

It looks like the Mancini brackets use a thicker (early A style) isolator, so the same thing might be accomplished with them by using a thicker '90ish diesel mount.

i wondered if the steel brackets were shorter with the thicker insulators making the total bracket/insulator the same thickness with both. without both in hand i don't know. it is possible the steel brackets are the same in which case as you say the motor would sit higher or lower with possible problems due to that.
neil.

Take it from someone who is replacing the motor mounts on my van today. Get an oem application for the rubber part, or use polyurethane. A/M mounts are crap now. Just speaking in general not specifically about any one product.
