Timing chain tensioner bolt

Well I'm losing sleep on this one. Got the short block put together. 1985 LA360 block. Put cam and timing chain on with a Cloyes tensioner. I only installed three bolts.....did not drill out plate to put the fourth bolt in (bottom right one).
Now I'm wondering if it is ok to leave that bolt out? Does it go into a oil passage or anything?

You're fine. Even without the tensioner, Ma only used 3 bolts with the drip tab- it just used a finger to locate in the fourth hole. (See inset)

Put the tensioner back in the box and put it up for sale on this site. There will be someone without knowledge to buy it for double what you paid. Take the money and buy an expensive billet tru-roller chain. You'll be way ahead of the game.

No no and no...go build some engines...and learn something - take your old wives tale to the old folks home
