Ammeter to voltmeter conversion

-
I am going with a new wiring harness from classic industries, it is supposed to match up to the stock system except for the ammeter issue. Hopefully I will be able to figure it all out. Its a long term ground up project so I can take my time and study things out as I go
Thats fine.
70dart340 seems to have concerns about the stock scheme even though he's not modifying the loads. Seen a few guys scared into making 'improvements' and shooting themselves in the foot. Figured he need a little moer input so he can evaluate his car's situation and decide what applies.

Here's another.

It's a sunpro others here have used.
When he stated 2.75 dia. I assumed he was referring to the center pod where clock/performance/tachometer belongs in the rallye panels. I don't have answer for that.

Yes, that's where it goes, I had gotten the Sunpro stated above because others have suggested it, but it is way to small for that spot. Mine has a blank in that hole that's why I want to use it so I don't have to do any major modifications elsewhere.

Get a performance indicator (vacuum gauge) to put in that hole if you don't like the blank. Pretty in-expensive (1st choice a tach) and looks good in that spot. IMO a giant voltmeter would look terrible. Shoot me a PM if you are interested. I have a spare.

@Idaho fish
A previous owner installed a VDO tach in mine. Sorry can't tell you what model # it is, but it blends in pretty well IMO. Had the car for almost 2 years before I realized it wasn't factory! (a couple weeks before I pulled the cluster out for repairs)

There isn't major modification required to replace the amp gauge with the sunpro volts gauge. It has been covered in a different thread.

How much was the Redline conversion, and how does the shipping work? I was trying to get away without spending the money for that but I may end up deciding to just do it.
Was $280 for the amp to volt conversion. Not inexpensive but they do high quality work and I've used them for all my instrument panels. I live in Ontario, Canada , so shipping is very $$$$. However, I live close to Port Huron MI and have parts shipped to a depot and I drive across to get them. Saves a lot of $$$ on shipping costs.
