I was installing new carpet and wanted nice clean holes for the seat belt bolts, seat posts and the dimmer switch. I used a piece of conduit for the seat posts and the seat belt bolts. A piece of chain link fencing top post was perfect for the dimmer switch. I cut a length of each and sharpened them into round knife edges on my bench grinder. I located the holes with an awl from the backside and then put a small piece of wood underneath the carpet hammering the cutter into the wood from the top. Perfect holes. I used a razor to cut any little loose strands of carpet hanging onto the cut out plug
NICE, so clean and a quick soldering iron around the hole would have made it perfect to look OE as Chrysler didn't use the plastic grommet that comes with repro carpets.
