Can’t help you on “the rest of the story” but If you didn’t have that intake what would you be using? If that intake was laying on a table with a bunch of other intakes at a swap meet and you needed to buy one, you definitely wouldn’t be picking that one. 318, 302 heads, B-body? Sell it, bolt on that Performer you already have. Seriously, a no brainer.

I was at ICH last weekend, saw more LD4b and LD340s there that day than I have ever seen in any one place which are supposed to be the "be all, end all" absolute best manifolds ever made, holy grail for a small block. But I wasn't paying what they were wanting for them, everyone was at $250-275. and there were a handful of sellers that had your proverbial "table full of intakes" you mention, of all brands for a small block. I think the only one I didn't see was an SP-2P. Which doesn't mean there werent any there. I looked at alot of them while walking down the aisles.
