The local stone quarries had a problem with the union, can’t remember details, but the family that owned it where very well off. They closed up shop went home after allotted amount off time they sent letters to all former employees telling them they could come back to work no union. Being a bricklayer and living 12 miles from it I knew of this quarry very well. The owners never treated anyone badly fairly for sure Xmas bonus for sure and the such. That was 20 years ago hasn’t been a union in there since employees don’t want it. Go figure
