I've been on both sides, never was a big fan of unions, can't say the the union ever did anything for me, always seemed like they were neutered anyway. I prefer non union simply because it seems less a lot convoluted bullshit. I have always believed that a person should be paid according to their work ethic first, and years on the job second. Not many employers that I have known realize that rewarding someone simply because they have been around for however long, even if that person is a slackass, just pisses off the others who are hard workers, especially if the others have to work harder/longer because of the slackers lack of effort. I consider that to be rewarding incompetence.
