Trying to line up the V belts instead of throwing them.

1 my SBM was cobbled together, belt pulleys don’t line up.

2. taking off the alternator, fan, water pump, and crankshaft pulley & comparing them to other pulleys, water pumps, even power steering pumps don’t all extend forward the same distance from the engine.

3. while trying to mix match paddy wack parts, I was not easily coming up with a matching V belt pulley line up.

340, power steering, alternator, water pump, and crankshaft pulley. (No A/C), I developed a growing leak from my water pump and bolts that extend into the water jacket-I was trying to resolve that problem when I realized the other. I have thrown belts before when I stomped on the gas-years ago.
