what do you think about asking to buy parts, club guys respond, then go missing when you want to buy them?

Happened to me several times by the same person here. I just blocked him and moved on.

Deal only with long term members who have established themselves as reliable and trustworthy. View the feedback and never do family and friends if you use PayPal. Be willing to add in the fee business to business charges will go a long way with the seller and rememberer if appears to be to good to be true it probably isn't

i dont know what the deal is with these guys dartfreak stiffed me so that doesen't fit the mix

I didn't stiff you i just haven't had a chance to send pics yet.

I told you I'd send pics and I will. I'll get them this morning when I get home from work.

Communication is the key.
Don't commit to anything you can't buy or can't deliver.
Just like the seller starting an ad without photos. If you don't have photos, don't post.

I was just gonna say, things happen or they just plain forget, or are busy like the above poster stated.

Did you send any of these sellers a reminder? I’ve been a member since 2006 and had 100’s of transactions and there has been times I often forget or something comes up. People get excited when they find parts but they also need to be patient with the seller. And yes....sometimes the seller can flake out or worse be a scammer, if you have gut feeling then just walk away, most members here are good people.

Also is what happens is sometimes multiple people message the seller saying they want the item, maybe something sold and they don’t feel like replying to all of them? I don’t do this but I know it happens with me when I ask for stuff on Facebook all the time...just happens this week...3 weeks ago I asked a guy about something I wanted to buy, didn’t hear back, thought the parts were gone, over a week later he messages me saying he was out of town and busy and he’d get me a shipping quote in a couple days...well, another week and a half went by, finally heard back from him yesterday. Not the best way to do business but if patient it may still work out. I have had people flake out on me too, where they say they want something, then they change their mind or you never hear back. Not sure what level of communication or commitment you made with sellers but just send them a polite reminder and if you still don’t hear back then keep searching...most of the time the hunt for items is the best part!

I was hacked just this past week. Someone somehow logged into my account account and was trying to scam and sell stuff under my name. Luckily Joey was on top of his game like always and shut it down and locked my account. I went to login that day and had to change my password when I finally got on he had explained what happened to me and I had several pms that wasn't me trying to sell stuff parts I don't even have. Im glad Noone lost any money and it got shut down. When I first saw this and saw my name I thought that's what it was about then went back thru my conversations and recognized the ops name.

Yes that was me and yes if you can I would appreciate it. That was after the hack lol

On the sellers end, was the item advertised in a sale ad, or just a mention that they had the item. Anymore, I can only keep up with the items I actually list, because they’re weighed and boxed up. If someone asks me if I have something, there’s a 50/50 chance that I can get to the process of picturing, sending pics, packing and weighing, and messaging back and forth about the item. I have a lot going on in real life, as do a lot of people, so you gotta give folks a break.

I had a guy pissed at me, who needed a part and I sent him what he needed. He then sent me a list of a lot of parts that he needed and proceeded to tell me he needed them in the next 2 weeks, including the entire dash out of a car I literally just brought home the day before. So now I try to just stick to what I list, it’s not my day job, and I can’t work on somebody else’s schedule with this stuff. I don’t mind getting folks the stuff they need, but it has to be in a patient manner.
