Does anyone know where I can find a replacement terminal for the fuse block? I tried looking for a number in the manual but ran out of time before I had to hit the road again. I’m assuming I’ll need the Packard 56 crimpers as well? There should be a picture of the one attached if I did this right….thanks

Thinking a whole aftermarket fuse block may be better but I’m not sure Ill have the time to do it anytime soon

This is for a 1974 Duster

There was a recent post asking about the same, do a search, in the last week or 2

Is there something wrong with this multi-connector? What about robbing parts from another fuse box?

My thoughts exactly. A wanted ad for a used fuse box would be a good place to start.

Go to eBay...I got those clips just in the last couple months. Many varieties available.

If you want to add a circuit, there are slip-on terminals to piggy-back on your existing ones.

Personally, I think that's begging to overload already marginal connections.

OP, I don't see an issue with those but if the other end shows signs of over heating, I'd strongly consider a new harness and some common mods.

If you're wanting to add a couple circuits, I would consider a fuseblock from a late model car, powered from the battery directly via relay. There are lots of ways to skin that cat.

Thanks for the all thoughts and responses. I’ll give eBay a look. I did try and search about a month ago when I was working on this but came up empty handed. Been too busy to think about it since. Ill look again since something may have come up.

The issue is with the wire/crimp connection to the terminal. I’ll try and post a better picture of that here. A spare fuse box may help if it came with long enough pigtails to splice into the original wiring

I agree. The condition of that wire and wire crimp render it unfit. Looks like the feed wire for switched hot (diagram designates it something like Q2 12 gage Black).

You may find it neccesary to splice in more wire even if you find the buss kit.
Best thing for hunting this stuff is the part number from the '74 Parts Book, assuming there is one for just the buss.
Its around '73 when the A-body fuse boxes get another fuse cavity. The earlier boxes don't have a 3 holder buss, however other car lines and brands may have.

Look at seller fmmpar on eBay:

He/she sells lots of terminals - all new in a bag. They all fit the fuse blocks - just have different configurations based on the wiring diagrams/years. This is also an easy way to set up the fusing the way you want recognizing the limitations of the 6 or 7 slots in your fuse block. When I did mine (71 Demon 340), the car has the 6-fuse fuse block and it had 6 fuses installed. But one of the clips on top was never there so that 6th fuse was not being used!!

Here is what they are supposed to look at including how they are fed on the top side of the block.

Hope this helps you - these are easy to work on once you get access to them by pulling the dash.

Just a crazy opinion- I stripped my original loom of all its connectors including the fuse block. I then bead blasted all the connectors and re-assembled with dielectric grease. Came out very nice and clean. If there were any remaining questionable connections, I could have soldered them.

I have 3 spare fuse boxes. They vary over years and models, especially the labelling (gets hard to read anyway). In most, the center position is blank (no copper clips), intended for options like a spotlight. My favorite box is from a 65 Fury (recall) that I put in my 1964 Valiant because a metal mounting stud than "screw into plastic hole" of others. I have found many 1960's-style electrical connectors in 1980-90's Dodge motorhomes, though can't recall if the cabin fuse-boxes. It seems they either didn't want to redesign or used up spare parts in the motorhomes. Grab a harness next time at the junkyard for many good spare connectors.

Thanks for all the help everyone. I did message fmmpar on eBay to see about getting the terminals…more I think about it though, I might just swap in a new painless fuse box since the dash is out and it’s easy access at this point. Gotta decide if the 7 circuit one is enough or if I should put in a 14 circuit now
