Well I figured out what happened now I gotta figure out WHY it happened.

As many of you know I tried to get my duster out for the last test n tune last year to try out my new 408 last year. My son Matt was going to be driving and when he took it to warm up around the track we had no second gear. I tried everything possible at the track and actually had 2nd gear (powerglide) on the jackstands but it soon quit again. Well I only had 3 passes on this transmission since I built it and it ran fine except the converter I threw in it was only 4600 stall instead of my usually 5760 so it was only running 6.30. Several of my friends suggested the sealing rings were leaking and suggested nylon rings on the pump and input shaft instead of cast iron rings. Well I pull the pump today to check it out and rebuild it and the top sealing ring on the pump was siezed and the second one was tight. This was with a brand new steel drum. There’s one heck of a burr too. Time to investigate and do some research. 6D929417-1361-4CFB-83C5-14D385D9C331.jpeg1624135A-3FCF-4A51-8E37-76A896B72887.jpeg
