Well I figured out what happened now I gotta figure out WHY it happened.

So, are you saying the missing bushing allowed the drum to move around causing the damage to the pump and sealing rings?
At least you finding something. Would be worrisome to see those sealing rings damaged and not know why it happened.


Yep that’s what happened. It cost me 100.00 drum and I haven’t decided it I’m going to pull the pump out of my last stock powerglide or buy a statter and change it out. Clutches I haven’t made up my mind yet. I’ll clean up a nice working area and inspect them. I’ll get to try out my new bushing installation and removal kit.
