Spent the day with my sister and her family grillin out hamburgers. My brother in law showed me this cool pedal car his sister gave him she had been keeping all these years. It was his growing up. I think it's really cool. Do any of yall know anything about it? It says "Hot Rod" on the side and 5 on the front and back with some cool lookin headers on the sides. It's also chain drive. The tires show very little wear. No rust through anywhere, just surface rust. He was talking about cleanin it up and gettin the rust off, but I told him no, to leave it alone. I think I got through.

I am pretty sure it is a very early 50s model unit. A very
cool piece tho amongst the family!

I have a 52 Garton police car, not a chain drive and solid rims, not slotted, same body

Pedal cars at one time were selling at premium prices. I had a friend in west Texas who kept me up to date, unfortunately he passed away.

Back in the 80's, my friend sold some for 1,000 to 2,000 bucks & above. It all depended on how rare they were at the time.

Pete, does it have some trim on the hood? This one has some holes down the center of the hood where I assume it had some trim.

Once some spring cleaning is done in the garage, I need to find a ceiling joist to hang this beast from.

There's one of those A&W cars for sale on FB Marketplace (ontario) if you want another...

i couldn’t imagine what shipping costs would be for it these days. One is enough! I don’t have Facebook but I’m curious how much the seller is asking for it?

Speedway motors has parts for pedal cars and a really, really extensive collection .. go visit some time, its pretty cool all the stuff he kept

Thanks yall. Although it's a pretty plain model, I found out that it's worth about a grand as is and if restored is only worth close to half that. They're not wantin to sell it and didn't really care about the value. I just thought I would investigate it since I like pedal cars and it's a cool one.
