I have an early A body radiator I would like some help identifying. The top tank has a stamped number 2445620. It is a slant 6 radiator, but it is a three row and in extremely nice shape. Any help is appreciated.

Galens little white book doesn't have that number but most of the 64 radiators listed start with 244, does it have both side brackets the same width? and is it a 19-inch-wide core? Maybe 64 A body HD slant radiator.

Yes. It would bolt right in Vixen. I never knew a slant car ever had a three row core, but this one sure does. It's in good enough shape that it may have been recored. The inside of the core looks new.

Thanks yall. I appreciate it.

Rusty, it may have been recored with the third row added. That’s what I did with my Duster radiator when it had to be recored.

If it was recored, the third row wasn't just added. All three rows match perfectly, so either it's an original that's clean as HECK or the core is pretty new.

I've seen that done before though and as long as the original core is good, there's nothing wrong with doin that.

When I recore a radiator I get a 3 row core every time. Picking up a 68 4 speed 340 radiator I just had recored to a 3 row next week. Price jumped +$175 in 3 years. You will never have overheating issues with a 3 row core.

A three row core will fit between the tanks. That's what I did to mine.
I think a four row would fit in it. I know it would fit the top tank, as there's still room at the back, but I believe it'd have to have a different bottom tank.

I'm going to take it to a friend who owns a radiator shop in Macon and get it checked out. If it's as good as it looks, I might just swap it in Vixen. She has a newer aluminum radiator, but I prefer the stock look and I think this one will probably cool just as good.

That shroud pictured is a factory 63-64 slant 6 fan shroud would have been installed with heavy duty cooling package or factory ac, yea kind of rare and I am sure a lot of them were thrown away the first time they were taken off.
