Jay if I record it and watch it after the show is over you can fast forward it during an advertisement and it will stop and start playing after the advertisement is over.
I had an old VCR player that would do that! But my DVR(Dish) i have to skip 30 sec at a time.
As A body said, i have gotten good at knowing how many times to push the FF button.
