What was the first car you ever drove? For me it was a 1972 swinger, what was yours?

1970 AMC Ambassador SST station wagon, 360 4-bbl yellow with woodgrain! The reason I have two Ambassador wagons now, but sadly they are on the market...

1973 Plymouth Gold Duster, 318 Automatic on the column w/gold (wanna say like a snakeskin top) multi color vinyl top

24 Farmall Regular tractor LOL. First actual car I drove was a 56 Chev moredoor 3 on the tree in high school driver's ed. We also had about a 63 Stude and a 58 Chev slush.

This one.......getting ready to sell about 02-03 or so

1953 Ford two door station wagon. 6 cyl. with three on the tree. I was thirteen and paid 12 bucks for it. It made a great field car, and my dad got really angry with me when he found a circle track in his hay field.

Some Ford guys would love to have that now I suppose, but it had a little rust in the rear quarters, so it finally went to the junk yard. Sure had fun with it though.

1973 Plymouth Scamp. The only thing I remember is it was brown. Knowing my dad, it was a 318. Drove it from the driveway through the yard around to the opposite side of the house to wash it.

thats easy , its my avitar pic , 41 wc with a standard cab that my pop built . and yes its still in my family .

Granddad's 1963 Buick LeSabre conv. around a big shopping center parking lot that was closed on Sunday's. I was 10 yrs old, 1969.

First car i drove on the street in 1973 was a 71' 318 Scamp at 14. My 18 yr old neighbor chick had me drive her around while she drank beer in her parents car. I eventually bought that car in the late 70's and used it for a daily driver for about 6 mos. Sold it and made a couple hundred to a co worker.

63 VW Bug top speed of 56 MPH by myself, about 48 with a couple buddies in it. sold it for a 383 68 dodge charger after 3 months

Does a go cart count?

I can't say for sure which one was first, but it would be one of the following:
63 Econoline van
65 Mustang
67 Dodge Dart

First car I drove, but not on the highway, was a 1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk when I was 11 years old. Looked exactly like the one I own today.

First car I drove on the road, with a real (albeit restricted) driver's license was this 1962 Dodge Polara 500 convertible, the day after I turned 14. Still had the 361 four barrel at the time, had a 440 in it when this pic was taken in 1968.

By myself, not sitting on a lap.... '49 Dodge, (semi-automatic)

1964 chev bel air 4 door station wagon 283 auto.

I was 14. Car was a 76 Fury or Coronet taxi cab. Dad was the fleet mechanic for a local cab company. When I'd hang out at the shop, I'd move them in and out of the service bays.

Drove a lot of tractors, but first car was a '47 Plymouth. Field car back on the farm- wood blocks wired (in the days before duct tape) to the pedals, couple of folded horse blankets stacked on the seat so I could see over the dash. Thing I remember most is that steering wheel was BIG...
Second car(?) I drove was a Diamond T grain truck. Even bigger steering wheel!
Was about 9 or 10 I think- didn't get on the road until I was about 14 and got my farm license.

73 AMC Hornet, 232 straight six, Auto, was my dad's car, got my driver's license in it then came home with dad, dropped him off at home took the car out on the freeway FYI a stock AMC Hornet can achieve exactly 100mph! When I got home Dad asked why it smelled hot?

'62 Chevy "Carryall" C10 with 250 in. six and three-on-the-tree. I'd been driving tractors for a while before that, and knew how to shift a non-synchro box on the road without grinding, so the family truckster was no problem :)
